To unite, empower, and mobilize a diverse coalition of organisations and individuals across Africa to end Female Genital Mutilation/Cutting through awareness creation, advocating for legal and policy change, supporting survivors, and fostering sustainable grassroots initiatives that uphold the rights, health, and dignity of women and girls

An Africa where women and girls are free from Female Genital Mutilation/Cutting, thriving in their fullest potential and enjoying their human rights in societies that value and protect their dignity

Global Context

The rapid population growth in countries where FGM is practiced presents a considerable challenge, highlighting the need for increased prevention efforts to safeguard a growing population at risk.

Regional Context

FGM/C is most prevalent in Sub-Saharan Africa, where cultural, social, and historical factors contribute to its persistence. The practice is found across various communities and is often linked to traditional rites of passage, beliefs about femininity and morality, and social pressure.
